As the first tier of local government, representing and supporting the community, Reedham Parish Council work collectively to serve the best interests of the residents, ensuring responsible management of public funds and making decisions that benefit the parish as a whole. 

The Council is a corporate body made up of eleven elected or co-opted councillors who either live or work within the parish or local area.  All councillors agree to uphold the Code of Conduct and declare interests where appropriate. Each year the Council set the precept and budget for the parish.

The Council hold ten scheduled public meetings each year plus additional meetings as required.  We also host the Annual Parish Meeting in the spring.

The Chairman is elected annually at the Annual Parish Council Meeting, usually held in May. The Chair leads meetings, ensures discussion is fair, respectful and focused on the agenda, and has the casting vote when required.

The Council’s work is supported by the Clerk, the Proper Officer of the Council, who also acts as the Responsible Financial Officer.  The Clerk is responsible for the administration of council business, ensuring decisions are lawful, preparing agendas and minutes, and managing council finances.

Together the Council and the Clerk work to support the community, respond to local needs, and ensure that public resources are managed efficiently and lawfully.
